Maintenance Zone Leader

The Zone leader shall report to the Maintenance Manager and must be familiar with,
understand and operate according to the company’s Business Management Systems.

He/she shall possess a good understanding of all applicable Quality, Food Safety,
Environmental, Health and Safety laws, Regulations and its impact on Company policies
.

Task & Responsibilities

The Zone Leader shall have supervisory responsibilities relating to the efficient coordination of maintenance activities specific to their area of skill. These duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Supervise and provide suitable training for a team of maintenance technicians
  • Liaise with the Maintenance Engineer and Maintenance Planner so as to ensure the effective execution of all maintenance (planned, corrective, preventative and predictive) activities to plant equipment, utilities and facilities. And ensure all task are performed safely, effectively and timely.
  • Troubleshoot and repair all plant and equipment to ensure safe and effective operation.
  • Investigate, correct and document all deviations and anomalies related to mechanical or electrical faults.
  • Monitor equipment during production with the aim of minimizing downtime and
    improving reliability by developing, implementing and reviewing maintenance
    procedures and checklists.
  • Assist with planning and coordination for the installation, commissioning and
    modification of new and existing equipment.
  • Ensure all work performed is recorded and any modifications to plant and equipment are documented.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and Good Manufacturing Practices in the Department and work areas.
  • The Zone Leader is expected to be flexible and to be prepared to assist in other reasonable job related activities that may arise in periods of non production, machine down time or due to changes in the company’s structure and development or as reasonably directed by Management.
  • Identify recommendations to contribute to risk reduction and sustainable performance
  • Perform other reasonable job related duties as may be assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • BSc. In Mechanical and or Electrical Engineering
  • Work experience in a production environment and supervisory training would be an asset

Skills/Requirements:

  • Good working knowledge of bottling plant machinery and systems (air compression, steam boiling, conveyors, power plant and industrial ammonia refrigeration)
  • Practical knowledge in troubleshooting plant machinery
  • Good problem solving, organizational and communication skills
  • Good supervisory skills
  • Computer literacy (MS Office, AutoCAD)

Training:

  • Relevant KORE Requirements and Company Procedures
  • Awareness of Integrated Management System:
  • IMS Policy and Objectives
  • Training in applicable Work Procedures: Quality, Food Safety and GMPs
  • Understanding of job-specific risks and operational controls to achieve risk
    reduction and sustainable performance
  • Understanding of consequences for departure from operational controls
