Women of Caribbean Bottling Company: Powering Our Progress

Caribbean Bottling Company (CBC), local producers of Coca-Cola and Dasani products, is thrilled to once again honor the women of CBC for their continual hard work and dedication to the company.
As a leading beverage manufacturer and distributor in The Bahamas and Turks & Caicos, CBC is proud to honor and highlight the women leading in various roles. Here we will explore career journeys, passions and self discovery from three women within the company.

Andrelle Gibson, Quality Systems Supervisor for New Providence; Blaine Bullard, Accounts Officer for Grand Bahama and Sade’ Jennings, Front Desk Cashier for Turks & Caicos.

Working in a male-dominant environment
Gibson: “Working in a male dominated field sounded intimidating at first but it has helped me to work on my confidence and letting my voice be heard in instances where women tend to be overlooked or unheard.

Bullard: “Working in a predominantly male dominated field allowed me to consistently perform at a high standard. I’ve learned that professionalism, knowledge and dedication speak volumes; the experience has helped me grow into a stronger and more capable professional.”

Best aspects of your job
Jennings: “The best part of my job is the environment. A respectful environment makes me feel more valued, safe and motivated. It encourages me to do more, I believe when respect is present, productivity increases and everyone can perform their best. Additionally, I love meeting new people because it allows me to learn different perspectives, cultures personalities, it keeps my work environment dynamic.”

Gibson: “I love the hybrid nature of both working in an office and being able to experience the more “Hands on” job positions. I also really enjoy collaborating with hard-working team members/coworkers who come together to tackle tasks and problem solve as a unit.”

Advice to women in non-traditional roles
Jennings: “Have confidence that you can do it, don’t let anyone tear you down, you will face some challenges but it’s there to elevate you in your life have God in the center of all things.”
Gibson: “ I believe that these roles can be very beneficial in allowing you to grow in a different environment. I would say staying focused and doing your best to produce the best results possible is very important along maintaining a balance of assertiveness and remaining true to yourself and character.”

Bullard: “My words of encouragement would be; Work hard, stay confident and continue to build your skills. Your dedication and professionalism will open doors and create opportunities for others to follow.”

Women who have impacted your career
Gibson: “Generally in life my mother has been instrumental in showing me what hard works looks like. Specifically at CBC, I would commend my managers in being role-models as high-performance women in a male dominated environment.”

Jennings: “My Apostle, she encourages me to become a better person, she helps, guides and correct me whenever I’m wrong and that’s love, she taught me many things in life and pushes me... she’s truly a beautiful person inside and out.”

Bullard: “I’ve been inspired by strong women in my life and workplace who have demonstrated perseverance, integrity and leadership. Their encouragement and examples have motived me to continue striving for excellence and growth in my career.”
