5 Finalists Named in “Coca-Cola Love” Jingle Contest

After receiving over 100 original entries for the Caribbean Bottling Company’s (CBC) “Coca-Cola Love” Jingle contest, 5 finalists were chosen to vie for a cash prize of $2,500.

CBC received dozens of entries from Bahamian recording artists, from around the country. After reviewing all of the submissions, the CBC jingle review panel was deadlocked and found it nearly impossible to narrow down the competition to just three finalists, as originally intended. Lavardo "Shine" Sands, Sammi "Starr" Poitier, Rio "Jonny Cake" Johnson, Brandon "BJT" Thomas, and Jowelle "Solo to da Googal" Dill were eventually chosen as the contests’ five finalists, and will have their original jingle entries voted on by the general public to decide a winner.

“We were completely blown away by the amazing jingles that we received” noted Nikia Wells, CBC Communications Marketing Manager. “Our entire team was genuinely impressed by the talented men and women who submitted entries, as well as the overall quality of their jingles.”

Wells added that they were so impressed, that the competition has also identified other young Bahamian musicians that they are eager to work with. “It was extremely difficult to narrow down the submissions. Some entries were exceptional, but we could not pick everyone. However, we have already reached out to a few of the musicians who took part about other projects and look forward to working with them in the future.”

The general public will have until June 14 to vote for their favorite jingle, and their votes will decide who will win the $2,500 cash prize.
